PORTLAND, Ore. – Closing out their preseason slate, T2 registered a 2-1 win against the University of Portland on Friday night at Merlo Field. T2 scored a goal in each half, including the final goal of the match from Villyan Bijev.
Neco Brett helped create the first goal of the match for T2, delivering a cross that was redirected into the back of the net by a Pilots’ defender for an own goal in the 41st minute. Portland leveled the score in the 52nd minute, but Bijev put T2 back in front in the 58th minute, settling a cross from Ben Polk inside the box and firing a close-range shot into the left side of the goal.
Opening their second season in USL, T2 travel to square off against Swope Park Rangers on Saturday, March 26, at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan.; kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. (Pacific). T2 return to the Rose City to play their home opener at Merlo Field on Saturday, April 2, against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at 7 p.m. (Pacific).
