The Timbers Academy assembled a winning weekend as the U-14 and U-13 sides each recorded victories against their Snohomish United counterparts at the adidas Timbers Training Center on Oct. 21.
The Timbers U-14s (4-2-0, 12pts) won their third consecutive match, earning a clean sheet in a 1-0 win. Jhovany Gaytan’s third goal of the season was the game’s lone tally, coming in the 53rd minute. Goalkeepers Milo Risenhoover and Spencer Brown each played a half to share in the clean sheet along with the backline.
A hat trick from Milos Mavrak helped the Timbers U-13s (2-3-1, 7pts) to a 6-2 victory. Mavrak scored all three goals within a 19-minute window, finding the back of the net in the 14th, 20th and 33rd minutes. Alexander Borst had a brace of his own, helping to get the scoring started with a goal in the opening minute. Warren Schwartz capped the six-goal outing with his own tally in the 62nd minute.
