Returning to league play this past weekend, the Portland Timbers U-16 and U-18 Academy sides played host to Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s U-16 and U-18 Academy teams at the adidas Timbers Training Center on Saturday, Oct. 22. Coming off a 2-0 win over Juventus Sport Club last weekend, the U-16s fell 3-0 to Whitecaps FC’s U-16s, marking only the second time an opponent has managed to keep the Timbers U-16s scoreless in league play this season.
The Timbers U-18s drew Vancouver’s U-18s 2-2 in their third straight match at home, with Wilterlynd Inalien recording a brace in the draw. With the brace, Inalien has tallied six goals in eight games played, leading the team in goals scored.
The U-16s and U-18s will travel for an away match next weekend, taking on Crossfire Premier’s U-16 and U-18 teams at Redmond High School on Saturday, Oct. 29.
