With a storied career that has included time with Inter Milan in Italy, Arsenal in England, and Werder Bremen in Germany, Portland Timbers defender Mikael Silvestre is perhaps best known for his nine year career with Premier League giant Manchester United. A winner of five league titles in the Prem with Man U, Silvestre was also part of The Red Devils' Champions League Cup run in 2008-09, as well as the 2003-04 FA Cup and 2005-06 League Cup campaigns.
He also has played 40 international matches for the Les Bleus of France helping win the Confederations Cup in 2001 and 2004 as well as being part of France's 2004 Euro and 2006 World Cup sides.
To say that Silvestre has seen his fair of soccer and played with some of the biggest names in football is an understatement. While it's hard to encapsulate it all, below is a photographic history of Silvestre's impressive career. Welcome to the Rose City, Mr. Silvestre.
