2015 has started off with a bang for Thorns FC forward Christine Sinclair. The Canada Women’s National Team captain continued her hot streak, tallying a brace in Canada’s 2-1 comeback win over tournament hosts China on Thursday.
After closing out 2014 with a goal in a friendly against Sweden, Sinclair has four goals in her last four matches for Canada. The two-goal performance was the 28th multi-goal game of her international career. At the same time it brings her total to 151 international goals.
One of the newest members of Thorns FC was also on the field as defender Rhian Wilkinson appeared in her second match of the tournament, starting and playing all 90 minutes.
China grabbed an early 1-0 lead scoring from a tricky angle near the end line in the 31st minute. In the second half, Sinclair completed the comeback as both goals came within a minute of each other in the 63rd and 64th minutes, including the game-tying goal on a penalty kick.
