We asked Kelly a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
"The first memories go back to the NASL Timbers in the 70s, and are too foggy to describe. We jumped on season tickets for the MLS Timbers since they first became available and try hard to never miss a match."
What was your favorite moment of the match tonight?
"Sadly the game had few great moments for our side, but it was still a blast to see the game from a different perspective. In the KeyBank Club dining room, we got to personally thank Merritt Paulson and Mike Golub for their support of the Timbers… and spied a few players who weren’t suiting up. But our biggest smiles came when we were down by the log before the match… watching Timber Joey and his gang of little Joeys draping scarves over the log."
Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
"One inch lower and Darlington Nagbe would’ve been a shoe-in."
What is your prediction for the next match – Timbers versus Vancouver Whitecaps?
"The Timbers will take the first step toward reclaiming the Cascadia Cup."
What else should we know about your Timbers fandom? Any favorite pieces of Timbers memorabilia?
"Our Member of the Match badges are our new favorites."
