As part of our inaugural group of ticket holders, Patrick and Sarah won the chance to have a VIP experience for the Portland Timbers vs. Seattle Sounders FC match on April 5th, including KeyBank Club seats, and a chance to visit with Timber Joey on the field!
We asked Patrick and Sarah a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
I wish we could say that we have both been Timbers fans since childhood, but we were introduced to the Timbers only a few years ago. We went with some friends to a Thirsty Thursday match just before we became an MLS team and loved it! At that match, we saw the ad for season tickets, signed up, and have been truly addicted ever since.
What was your favorite moment of the match today?
Urruti's epic victory dance! 'Nuff said.
Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
Chara played like we have never seen him play before. All the guys played well, but to us, Chara stood out. He was calm on the ball, but still aggressive. We have really enjoyed watching the way his play has developed and changed under Caleb's coaching style.
What is your prediction for the next match – Timbers versus Chivas USA?
If we play like we did for 80 minutes of this game, we could be unstoppable.
What else should we know about your Timbers fandom or feedback about your Axe experience?
The Axe experience was phenomenal. SO much more than we even expected! What a special way to show the club's appreciation for the Supporters! Thank you so much!
