As part of our inaugural group of ticket holders, Mark and his son Sean won the chance to have a VIP experience for the Portland Timbers vs. Sporting Kansas City match, including KeyBank Club seats, and a chance to visit with Timber Joey on the field!
We asked Mark a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
"My early memories of the Portland Timbers center around the NASL era. I was a student at PSU during 1976-1980 and attended two or three Timbers matches each season. The match I recall most did not involve the Timbers, but the 1977 Soccer Bowl with the Sounders vs. [New York] Cosmos for the NASL title. It was Pele’s last competitive match and NY prevailed 2-1. There were bleachers set up along the east sideline and the stadium was rocking with about 35,000 in attendance."
What was your favorite moment of the match tonight?
"My favorite event in the match was [Modou] Jadama getting his first MLS action."
Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
"Jeff Attinella was by far the Man of the Match for the Timbers: another clean sheet."
What is your prediction for the next MLS match – Timbers at Atlanta United?
"Atlanta is a tough match: I hope for a draw."
What else should we know about your Timbers fandom?
"The Timbers organization from the field to the office is top notch. The employees strive to make the fan experience second to none. Merritt Paulson has created a blue ribbon organization."

Congratulations Mark and Sean! And thank you for your continued support!
