EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Portland Timbers goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau and Canada faced Argentina in the Copa América 2024 Semifinals on Tuesday, suffering a 2-0 loss at MetLife Stadium.
One of the standout performers of the tournament, Crépeau entered the semifinal as the Copa América 2024 leader in saves (16) and tied for first in saves made inside the box (12). Crépeau, who has started every match of the tournament for Canada, made one save in the semifinal loss to Argentina.
Timbers defender Kamal Miller was an available sub, but he did not make an appearance in the semifinal.
Despite the loss, Canada's magical run in its Copa América debut will continue on Saturday, July 13. The team heads to Charlotte, NC, for the third place match, and will feace either Colombia or Uruguay. Kick off from Bank of America Stadium on Saturday is 5 p.m. (Pacific).
