Diego Chara just surpassed 30,000 MLS regular season minutes played.
Chara would become the 10th MLS field player to hit that milestone and 15th overall, including goalkeepers. Notably, Chara is the first field player in league history to play all 30,000 minutes with one club and the second all-time behind RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando.
The only remaining original member of the 2011 Portland Timbers,Ā Chara's start on Saturday in Atlanta also meant another milestone: he is now tied for the the second most regular season starts in MLS history by a player with one club (337). Chara is level with Kyle Beckerman of Real Salt Lake and below only goalkeeper Nick Rimando, who had 369 starts for RSL.
Chara is the clubās all-time leader in games played (341).
