Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri, the 2017 Landon Donovan MLS MVP, was named to EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Rest of World Top 50 Team of the Season today. The Team of the Season is part of FIFA 18's massively popular Ultimate Team (FUT) platform where fans can download player cards and build their own squad to play in the game.
Team of the Season (TOTS) cards are created to recognize the best players from around the world. TOTS collections include cards for the English Premier League, Spain's La Liga, the German Bundesliga, Italy's Serie A, France's Ligue 1 and the rest of the world. Some players recognized this year include a who's who of world football: Manchester United's David De Gea, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi and more.
Valeri, who scored 21 goals and contributed 11 assists in 2017 and is on 4 goals and 3 assists in 2018, is the only player in MLS to be named to a TOTS list.
