Finalists announced for #TIMBERSCHEF competition presented by Dave's Killer Bread | The Backcut

Timbers Pretzel

The rules of the #TIMBERSCHEF competition presented by Dave's Killer Bread were simple.

Contestants needed to concoct a delicious dish using a locally-sourced main ingredient that could be made in large batches, held hot or cold for 20 minutes, and produced for under $3.

It was a tall order, but Timbers fans were up to the challenge. They overwhelmed us with their recipes and some of their photos had the judges drooling.

But there could be only four finalists. Now, after careful deliberation, the Timbers are proud to announce the final four and their mouthwatering creations.

First, take a look at the Green and Grilled Quesadilla. This delectable treat, packed with Tillamook cheese, fresh lime seasoned kale, yellow peppers, and caramelized onions, comes with a slice of lime and a side of cilantro Tillamook sour cream.

Next, feast your eyes on the "Woodshed Roll." This homemade pretzel comes stuffed with Widmer Upheaval IPA-braised, Carlton Farms-bred pork shoulder and Tillamook smoked cheddar.

That's not all.

For all of you out there waiting for lunch, you may want to look away from this next entry: buffalo chicken meatballs served over a celery and cucumber salad and topped with homemade buttermilk ranch dressing.

Last but not least is a dose of international flavor befitting the international game. @heyjperry cooked up this simple, but flavorful Korean hot beef with sticky rice and pickled vegetables.

By now, you're probably wondering when you can line up to order these delicious dishes. Not so fast! Before you can gorge yourself on quesadillas, stuffed pretzels, meatballs, and Korean beef, on February 20, each of these four contestants will have to face off in an "Iron Chef" style competition, where only the tastiest dish will survive.

The finalists and winners will win Timbers tickets and merchandise, a free loaf of Dave's Killer Bread every month for one year, and the grand prize winner will see his or her dish served at Providence Park this season! Pretty sweet, no?

Look for updates from the Timbers' Twitter and Instagram accounts for more about both the competition and the finalists.

And may the best dish win.
