The Portland Timbers signed their first-ever free agent today in acquiring midfielder Ned Grabavoy. Here are five quick things to know about the newest member of the Timbers.
-- Grabavoy has won some trophies in his career. He was co-captain for the Indiana University during their 2003 NCAA College Cup championship run.
-- He is a two-time MLS Cup winner. His first came in 2005 with the LA Galaxy and then again as a teammate of Nat Borchers when the pair won it in 2009 with Real Salt Lake.
-- A veteran MLS player, Grabavoy has appeared in 279 career MLS games (220 starts).
-- He has played for the LA Galaxy (34 games), Columbus Crew (36 games), San Jose Earthquakes (24 games), Real Salt Lake (159 games) and NYC FC (25 games).
-- Grabavoy is a father of twins.
