Gate times, concessions and more: What's New at Providence Park in 2020

Providence Park #2, Timbers vs. LAFC, 6.1.19

The 2020 Portland Timbers MLS season is upon us and Providence Park is ready to welcome everyone. There’s been a few updates and changes around the stadium and we’ve outlined them below to get you ready.

Also, check out PTFCmap.com for an easy guide in and around the park with listings for gates, food and beverage, guest amenities, and more. It’s a web-based tool that works on both desktop and mobile – save it to your phone’s home screen for easy access.

Gate Times
Perhaps one of the biggest changes is Gate Times. All gates for Timbers matches now open 75 minutes prior to kickoff with Tanner Ridge, KeyBank Club and Timbers Army/General Admission ticket holders able to enter 90 minutes prior to kickoff.

For Thorns matches, all gates open 90 minutes prior to kickoff.

Food and Beverage
The Timbers, Thorns FC and Park Provisions have partnered together for the 2020 season to further cultivate a hospitality program that is unique to Providence Park, including the continuation of “Park Pricing” games and the addition of Killer Burger to the venue’s dining roster.

Once again, the teams are freezing concession food prices across the board, while “Park Pricing” returns with $2.50 hot dogs, $2.50 nachos and $6, “Beer of the Match” 16-ounce cans, provided by sponsors Widmer, Modelo and Coors Light, for midweek Timbers and Thorns FC matches during the 2020 season.

Killer Burger joins returning favorites Podnah’s and HOTLIPS Pizza, and will feature in section 93 with a classic burger, peanut butter pickle bacon burger and a Park exclusive, Striker burger with bacon, grilled jalapeños, Sriracha ketchup, Havarti cheese, mayonnaise and grilled onion.

In addition, many of the dining destinations around the stadium will have expanded with new offerings and fan favorites. Check out PTFCmap.com to find out where and click here to read the latest on Park Provisions inside the stadium.

Axe Society Bracelets for General Admission
This season, we have added an Axe Society bracelet as part of a new pilot program to improve the General Admission experience. These bracelets can be worn and shown to Guest Attendants throughout the season upon arrival at the General Admission sections. We hope this will help supporters carrying items as well as those who have children who may not have their own phone, as well as decrease wait times getting into GA sections. Axe Society Members with Timbers Army tickets will receive one (1) bracelet per GA seat in the mail.

Please note that these bracelets do not replace the need for a valid ticket for entry or early entry wristband. If this program is successful for GA sections, we will look to expand it, or something similar, to additional seating areas in future seasons.

Timbers Army Wristbands
Speaking of wristbands, there’s been a few changes to this process. Due to the high demand for the best seats in the Timbers Army and our desire to provide a fair and consistent early entry procedure, we will once again use a system of wristbands to help facilitate early entry at Gate E for Timbers Army fans at Providence Park.

Timbers Army Early Entry via Gate E will be at 90 minutes, while all other public gates (B, C, D and F) will be at 75 minutes. Those with Timbers Army tickets may continue to line up 24 hours before the announced kick for wristbands. Early Entry Wristbands are capped at 500 per match and may increase for Rivalry matches. Camera Policy
Fans can continue to enjoy matches and grab photos via mobile phones, but this year cameras and video recorders will not be allowed at Providence Park during Timbers, Thorns and T2 games without our prior written consent. If any fans want to request an exemption from this policy for any match or reason they can reach out to the Member Services department at least 48 hours prior to the match through members@timbers.com
