Newly signed Portland Timbers forward Frederic Piquionne comes to MLS with a resume that includes extended stints with Stade Rennais, Saint-Etienne, AS Monaco and Olympique Lyonnais in France's Ligue 1 as well as a number of seasons in the English Premier League with West Ham United.
A quick forward who makes insightful runs off the ball to get into position, Piquionne trialed with Portland during their recent preseason tournament. Upon his arrival in the Timbers camp, head coach Caleb Porter had this to say about him: “He’s going to be good, he’s got a pedigree, he’s played at a very high level. I like the way he looks. He looks like a player, and moves like a player and certainly seems sharp around the goal."
