Ligthning accompanied rain and thunder last night ahead of the Thorns road match with the Washington Spirit delaying kickoff by a good two hours.

In the case of Alex Morgan, she took the time to re-connect with fellow USWNT teammates--and Spirit opponents--defender Ali Krieger and goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris.
Once the whistle blew, though, the players were all business as Morgan scored on Harris in the 8th minute on the team's way to a 1-1 draw on the road. Maybe that locker room talk gave Morgan some added insight?
