Portland Timbers defender Vytas got the start and played the full 90 in Lithuania's 2-0 win over Malta yesterday in Vilnius. It was the Lithuanians' first win in their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign for Russia.
Vytas was active throughout the game and almost helped the home side get a third goal with a nifty cross from the left side in the 87th minute but Mindaugas Grigaravičius could not get his shot to fall.
The victory puts Lithuania in second place on five points in Group F after three games. They'll next play Slovakia on Nov. 11.
