Join historians Libby Provost and Morgen Young of Historical Research Associates, Inc., who spent a year developing and curating the exhibit, for a virtual tour of the Oregon Historical Society exhibition, We are the Rose City! A History of Soccer in Portlandon Dec. 14 at 4pm PT. The exhibition was a collaborative project, with contributions from former and current players, coaches, management, and staff from the Portland Timbers, Portland Thorns FC, F.C. Portland, Portland Pride, Portland Pythons, and Portland Rain as well as supporters from the 107 Independent Supporters Trust, Rose City Riveters, Timbers Army, journalists, photographers, and others involved in the soccer community. Mick Hoban, the first player signed to the newly formed Portland Timbers in 1975, will also join the virtual tour. A local soccer legend, Hoban will share some of his insights into the growth of the sport in Oregon over the past forty-five years.
