SANDY, Utah – Despite a late, second-half goal from defender Bill Tuiloma – his first of 2020 – the Portland Timbers lost 2-1 to Real Salt Lake Wednesday night at Rio Tinto Stadium.

11' - GOAL (RSL) - A ball played forward into the Timbers 18-yard box saw goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic come off his line to try to gather but he only knocked it slightly forward where Real Salt Lake forward Douglas Martinez collected and scored into the open net to put the Timbers down 1-0.

15' - CHANCE (POR) - Midfielder Diego Valeri curled in a swerving free kick from the left side of the field that RSL goalkeeper Andrew Putna punched away.

26' - GOAL (RSL) - Portland went behind 2-0 on a Salt Lake corner kick that found RSL midfielder Damir Kreilach open with space to volley in a goal.

29' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic kept the score close with a spectacular diving save on a scorching Kreilach free kick from just outside the area.

32' - SAVE (POR) - An RSL ball forward found Martinez in the right channel. He dribbled ahead and tried to shoot toward the Timbers near post but Ivacic made another great save.

62' - CHANCE (POR) - Midfielder Cristian Paredes found open space with no pressure and hit a 25-yard shot that Putna jumped to his right to make a save.

77' - GOAL (POR) - The Timbers pulled one back in the 77th minute when Valeri sent a perfect set piece ball into the box that defender Bill Tuiloma headed past Putna to make the score 2-1.

79' - CHANCE (POR) - On a corner kick, Putna couldn't clear the ball and the ball bounced around inside the six-yard box before rolling just past the outstretched foot of midfielder Yimmi Chara.

80' - CHANCE (POR) - Forward Felipe Mora sprang Jeremy Ebobisse off to his right and into the box. Ebobisse went forward and hit a sharp-angled shot that force Putna to push the ball out for a corner.
