Last Friday night, as the Portland Timbers downed Minnesota United FC 5-1 in the MLS season opener, midfielder Darlington Nagbe helped spark teammate Fanendo Adi to his stoppage time brace with a gorgeous assist. Dribbling forward into the attacking third and drawing defenders to him, Nagbe sprung a wide open Adi to his left who rounded the Loons goalkeeper and scored.
MLS Armchair Analyst Matt Doyle named it his MLS Assist of the Week for Week 1.
