VIEWING GUIDE: Thorns FC playoff semifinal match at FC Kansas City to be broadcast on FOX Sports 2, FOXSoccer2Go.com and at Portland-area pub partners
Portland Thorns FC fans planning to watch the team’s National Women’s Soccer League playoffs semifinal match against second-seed FC Kansas City at 11 a.m. (Pacific) on Saturday at Shawnee Mission District Stadium in Overland Park, Kan., have the option to watch the nationally televised match on FOX Sports 2 through their local cable provider, online at FOXSoccer2Go.com or at one of the club’s Portland-area pub partner locations.
Here’s a look at the viewing options:
Option 1: Unavailable to Portland-area Comcast subscribers, FOX Sports 2 is carried on both DirecTV and DISH Network. Here’s a quick channel guide for Thorns FC fans who subscribe to DirecTV or DISH Network:

Option 2: If you don’t have DirecTV or DISH Network or cannot make it to one of the Thorns FC pub partners (listed below), the nationally televised playoff match will also be available online at FOXSoccer2Go.com. There is a free two-week trial offer through Sept. 15, so users who register can access the service at no cost during the trial period and watch Saturday's match.
Despite being a free trial, users will be required to enter their credit card information before accessing the service. A charge of $19.99 will appear on your statement; however, if you cancel your account before the end of the free trial, no charges will be incurred. You may cancel your account by visiting the “My Account” tab on the website upon finishing registration.
Lasting until Sept. 15, all the remaining NWSL playoff games will be simulcast on FOXSoccer2Go.com.
Option 3: Several Portland-area pub partner locations that subscribe to DirecTV or DISH Network will be showing the Thorns FC playoff match at 11 a.m. (Pacific).
A special, all-ages Thorns FC viewing party will be hosted by McMenamins Ringlers Pub (1332 W. Burnside, Portland, Ore., 97209). Fans can watch the game on televisions throughout the pub or on a large projection screen with Thorns broadcasters Angela Harrison and Ann Schatz. Those in attendance can also enter to win team-signed Thorns FC jerseys and other Thorns FC merchandise.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 11 a.m. (Pacific) at Shawnee Mission District Stadium. Thorns FC and FC Kansas City will square off for the fifth time this season in the semifinal round of the NWSL playoffs. Portland (11-6-5, 38pts) earned a 1-2-1 overall record against FC Kansas City (11-6-5, 38pts) during the regular season. The previous four matches between the clubs registered a combined total of 16 goals as Thorns FC earned a 1-1 draw on the road (April 13) and a 4-3 win at home (June 6). FC Kansas City defeated Portland 2-0 at home (June 30) and took a 3-2 win in Portland (Aug. 4).
