PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers Academy player Marco Farfan has been named to the United States U-19 Men’s National Team roster for the team’s training camp from Nov. 5-14 in Sunrise, Fla. The U-19s will face the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team, as well as a friendly match against a to-be-determined opponent.
Farfan, who started and played 62 minutes for the U.S. U-19 Men’s National Team against Liga MX side Xolos’ reserve squad on Oct. 7, makes his second appearance with the U-19s in 2016. The 17-year-old defender became the youngest player signing for the Timbers, and the first product of the Timbers Academy program to sign as an MLS Homegrown Player on Oct. 14.
