Timbers forward Ryan Johnson had a busy night Saturday in Portland's exciting 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City. With a goal and an assist, he was voted MLS' No. 1 Performer in their weekly Top 3 feature.
Following the victory, Johnson spoke about the direction the team has been heading.
"We don’t fear anybody," he said. "Home or away we’re going to look to play, we’re going to look to press and we wanted to make a statement tonight and we did. We’re going to keep our feet on the ground and keep doing what we’re doing."
His play over the last month backs that up. Over the course of April, Johnson played in 4 games scoring 3 goals and 1 assist along with an MLS Player of the Week award in Week 6. He is now up for the MLS Top Performer of the Month poll. Vote for Johnson!
