Portland Timbers midfielder Rodney Wallace, freshly returned from national team duty with Costa Rica, picked up right where he left off on Sunday's big 3-0 win over the Colorado Rapids. Placed in the Starting XI, Wallace proceeded to provide three assists on all three of the Timbers' goals.
Wallace is having a breakout year and leads the team with five assists in 2013 but is quick to credit his teammates on the run of good form.
“I think it’s just confidence and feeding off the guys around you," he said. "I think we have a great team with a bunch of players, who make it easy for you to go out there and play a good game."
His work on Sunday earned him the No. 1 spot in the MLS Top Performers for Week 17. He is also up for FutbolMLS.com's Latino de la Jornada poll as well.
