The Timbers Reserves (4-7-3, 15pts) had the chance to strike in the first half when they were awarded a penalty kick in the 27th minute after Seattle defender Will Bates tackled forward Sebastian Rincón inside the box. Rincón pushed his attempt wide left of the goal.
The Timbers Reserves pulled one back early in the second half. Rincón stole the ball in Seattle territory and broke in on goal.
