Rain. Tough Western Conference foes. National TV. All the elements were in place for a dramatic regular-season home finale, with playoff implications on the line. The Portland Timbers played with heart, worn right on their sleeves, against Real Salt Lake, playing for the supporters that have stood behind them all season long. The club has saluted supporters in previous season's regular-season, home finales. So we take this opportunity, in traditional fashion, to thank and show the best fans in North America.
And the night was capped in a special moment as Diego Valeri was awarded the 2014 Supporters' Player of the Year infront of the Timbers Army, and he walked off the capo stand to chants of MVP - of which he is certainly worthy.
