Things started off with the Portland Timbers on the early attack on Friday night against the Chicago Fire.
Despite some early chances, the teams went into the half without a score.
But the second half brought the Timbers pressing yet again, and in the first 20 minutes it was Diego Valeri linking up with Fanendo Adi with a special first touch and pass combination that resulted in the go-ahead goal.
Portland came out on top, 1-0, and grabbed three points at Providence Park.
