The Portland Timbers took to the pitch at Providence Park on Friday night to battle Western Conference rival Houston Dynamo.
Each team started out strong, but a pressing attack by Portland saw the Timbers in the driver's seat for much of the first half. Despite strong play, the Dynamo jumped out to a surprising 2-0 lead in the first period of play.
But the Timbers charged back, and perhaps to the surprise of only a few, Portland came through late. First, it was Darlington Nagbe, who scored off a nifty pass from Lucas Melano.
Then, Melano himself opened his MLS account, knocking home the equalizer.
It was a playoff atmosphere at the park, with fans getting every bit of emotion they could out of a crazy night of football.
