On where the club can improve moving forward:
“There are some things we need to address. The biggest one is we need to continue to play the way we played to get the goals. Obviously there was a clear shift in our urgency in that first half before we got the goal and then after we scored a goal. There was a shift, I thought, in how we played. Second half, you could see a difference in how we played to get the two goals to go up 3-2, and after that you could see a bit of a let-down. The key thing is you can’t play not to lose. When you play not to lose, you usually lose. We’re at our best when we’re proactive, when we’re pushing the game, playing with urgency, playing on the front foot. We played that way tonight to get all three goals, but the other side is when we didn’t play that way, and ultimately those were the periods that cost us.”
On what positives the team can take away:
“There’s a silver lining to this and that’s that we’re still in very good shape. They don’t make up three points on us. As much as it would have been nice for us to be at 41 with them, we’re still three points off the top of the league with games in hand, two games in hand on Salt Lake. When the dust settles, there are some positives with where we’re at. Obviously there’s not too many positives with how this game ended, but there are a lot of positives with where things are at, so we can’t let this get us so down that it affects the next game.”

Thoughts on the match:
“Like any game, you can learn from it. It’s disappointing; we were in a position to win the game in the end, but the reality is that we really didn’t play well enough to win the game. We were in a position to win it but it wasn’t quite good enough for us tonight. We scored the first goal and started the game really well, which was we talked about doing. But after we scored that first goal the mentality went down a little bit, so I think the last few games that’s been a little bit of an issue as we’ve had good spells but our mentality is not there for 90 minutes, and that’s hurt us. At the end of the game when it was 3-2, we took our foot off the pedal and they end up getting back in it again, and we were even up a man. It’s a psychological, mentality thing that we need to fix, and if we do that we’re going to get results.”
On the short turnaround to the next match against Seattle:
“It will be great to move on quickly. It will take tonight and tomorrow to get over this match, and then we need to get back to work on Friday. We need to keep with the same mentality we had starting with the Dallas game, and we said we were going to take one game at a game and we’re going to keep doing that. Salt Lake is a good team, it’s just unfortunate we didn’t get the win. We’re going to take it one game at a time, and we have plenty of time to get the points we need. If the mentality is right, we’re in form, and we’re playing well, that’s what’s important.”

“It’s a game we wanted to win, but it didn’t go as planned. We’re at the stage where we have to bounce back and prepare for the game in Seattle, which is very important. Typically, there's a lot of people down at the bottom, so your chances of not making the playoffs are very slim. So, you begin to kind of lose your way. But this year, I think every single game is being like [tonight], with that intensity, and I think that's fantastic because it should put us in a really good place for the playoffs."

"I thought we played some pretty good stuff. Obviously, the PK changed some things in the second half and the red card changed the game as well, but it was a complete battle by everybody, guys who came on as well. "I think the loss to LA was one of those games, where you're not clean with the ball. They have two of the best forwards in the league and they punish you when they get their chances. So, I don't think it was overly terrible in that game, but in saying that, you obviously don't want to give up four goals. We gave up three goals tonight, so hopefully we can smooth these things out going forward because we are scoring goals on the other end; but I think it's there. Quickly after that LA game, maybe it's good to have another game right away to get a reaction, and to get a result up here says a lot about this group right now."

"It could be a number of things. I'm looking sometimes and it seems like everyone is looking around and we're a bit unorganized. It shouldn't be that way, everyone should know where they're supposed to be. We need to clean that up. We can't just keep talking about it."
