The Portland Timbers and Pendleton Woolen Mills’ limited-edition, fan-designed blanket is now available via online pre-sale. The blanket is currently on sale at PortlandSoccerShop.com and Pendleton’s online store. To celebrate the Portland Timbers’ inaugural season in the Rose City (1975) as part of the North American Soccer League, only 1,975 blankets have been produced.
The winning blanket design, developed earlier this year as part of a public contest and fan-vote, was created by Laura Jost. She used her bird’s eye view from the Timbers Army section as inspiration for a stylized representation of the beautiful game.
A portion of sales will support “Fields For All,” a collaboration between Operation Pitch Invasion (OPI) and the Portland Timbers’ Stand Together community initiative. The partnership focuses on creating safe, healthy playing surfaces for underserved communities.
