#StatMan Three | Armenteros picks up first career MLS assist on game-winning goal

A late goal was the difference as the Portland Timbers defeated Seattle Sounders FC 1-0,in the 100th meeting in the rivalry's history. Here are three key #StatMan takeaways from #PDXSEA100.

86Sebastián Blanco delivered the game-winner in the 86th minute for Portland. Blanco's chipped goal was the latest game-winning goal for the Timbers in the rivalry since July 14, 2004, when Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar scored the golden goal for Portland in the second period of extra time.

1 For the second consecutive match, Samuel Armenteros influenced the decisive goal after coming on as a substitute. Last week, Armenteros set up the game-winning free kick, and against Seattle, the Swedish forward delivered his first MLS assist on Blanco's game-winner.

5 Portland's defense delivered in the heat, allowing just five shots in the match. That is the second-fewest shots allowed by Portland in any MLS match since the club joined the league in 2011.
