#StatMan Three | Timbers welcome largest home crowd since 1976

Providence Park, Timbers vs. LAFC, 6.1.19

In their first match in the newly renovated Providence Park, the Portland Timbers fell 3-2 to Los Angeles FC in front of a sellout crowd Saturday night. Here are three key #StatMan takeaways from the match. 


2Cristhian Paredes opened the scoring for the Timbers, when he finished off a rebound in the 46th minute. The goal was the second of the season for the midfielder and the second time Paredes has scored against LAFC at Providence Park in his career. 


4 Forward Brian Fernandez has continued his torrid start to his Timbers career, scoring his fourth goal in his three matches. Fernandez is the second Timbers player ever to score four goals in his first three matches with the club. 


25,218 The attendance of 25,218 was the largest crowd at Providence Park since the 2003 Women's World Cup Semifinals matches on Oct. 5, 2013. The sellout crowd was the largest to see a Timbers home game since June 12, 1976, when the NASL Timbers faced off with the New York Cosmos.
