Dairon Asprilla, Timbers @ Houston, 6.23.21

Fightback

The first four times the Timbers went down a goal this year, they lost the game. However, in the past two straight matches, Portland have fought back after going behind to earn points – first in their 2-1 win Saturday against Sporting Kansas City and tonight in their 2-2 draw with Houston.

Career High

Sparking the Timbers come back, midfielder Dairon Asprilla scored his third goal of the season with a deft chip in the 50th minute. His three goals are a career high and it was his second goal in as many games.

Good Timing

Forward Jeremy Ebobisse scored his first goal of the season in dramatic fashion heading home the equalizer in second half stoppage time. It was Ebobisse’s first goal since Oct. 18, 2020.
