Thorns FC's Steph Catley voted onto cover of FIFA 16's Australia edition

Fresh from her first ever FIFA Women's World Cup experience, Thorns FC defender and Australian international

was voted onto the cover of the Australian edition of EA SPORTS' FIFA 16 video game. Catley becomes the first woman to appear on the cover of the iconic and internationally popular game.




“Words can’t describe the excitement I’m feeling about being on the cover of FIFA 16, it’s a dream come true!” Catley told EA SPORTS.




Catley, who was part of a fan vote that included fellow Matildas Katrina Gorry and Kyah Simon, will be included on the cover alongside FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi.




"I’ve always been a huge FIFA fan and knowing that I will be playable in the game, as well as being on the cover alongside Lionel Messi, is a career highlight for me!" she said. "I would like to thank Australia for voting and cannot wait to see it on the shelves!”
