Timbers on Campus | Foster Langsdorf tallies first goal for Stanford; Ben Strong on a roll for Louisville

Foster Langsdorf, Stanford, 10.1.14

The NCAA men's soccer season continues to roll along and several Timbers Academy alumni are gaining valuable minutes with their respective collegiate programs.

Stanford freshman Foster Langsdorf, a starter for Timbers U-18s during the 2013-14 season, came off the bench for the No. 19-ranked Cardinal, logging his first career minutes and netting his first goal in a 3-0 win over Gonzaga on Sept. 26. Stanford are currently on a six-match winning streak, going back to Aug. 31 and are 6-0-2 at home.

Akron freshman Jesse Garcia-Aguilar and Anthony Macchione - both key players for the Timbers U-18 Academy team during their run to the 2013-14 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs - earned time on the pitch in recent games (a 3-1 win over Ohio State on Sept. 24 and a 2-1 loss at Wake Forest on Sept. 30). Both Garcia-Aguilar and Macchione have appeared in each of Akron's eight regular-season matches this season, with Garcia-Aguilar holding down a starting role (7 starts). The Portland native has tallied one goal and one assist for the Zips.

Utah Valley University freshman goalkeeper Collin Partee got the start against No. 4-ranked UC-Irvine and helped handcuff the undefeated Anteaters while making eight saves and sending the game into double overtime. Utah Valley ended up losing 2-1, but Partee continues to perform well for the nacent Utah Valley squad. Partee has appeared in six of the team's seven matches, while earning a 3-2-0 record with one shutout and a 0.89 goals-against average.

Gonzaga University has struggled to earn results this season, compiling a 1-7-0 record, but Timbers Academy alum and freshman defender Ben White has solidified a starting role for the Bulldogs. White started his eighth straight match on Sept. 28 in a 1-0 loss at Seattle University

Several members of last year's Timbers U-23s side have continued to impact their college teams. Ben Strong registered an assist in Louisville’s 4-1 win over Pittsburg on Sept. 26, giving the Cardinals their fourth consecutive win. In that run, Strong has tallied three goals and two assists. Watch highlights of the game here. Miguel Aguilar scored his fourth goal of the season for the University of San Francisco in a 3-0 win over San Jose State Sept. 26. Aguilar has started each of the Dons’ first eight matches of the season and currently leads the team in goals scored. Lucas Stauffer scored his first collegiate goal to give Creighton a 1-0 win over Villanova in the Blue Jay’s BIG EAST opener on Sept. 27 and defender Kyle Fisher scored his second goal of the season for Clemson in a 3-1 win over Wake Forest on Sept. 26. Fisher has started each of Clemson’s first nine matches this season, contributing to the Tiger’s 5-4 record.
