PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers defender Larrys Mabiala was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 26, the league announced today. Mabiala helped the Timbers extend their unbeaten streak to five games with last night’s 2-1 victory against LAFC.
The Montfermeil, France native has recorded 90-minute performances in all five matches during the club’s unbeaten run. Additionally, Mabiala helped the Timbers record a new consecutive shutout minutes record (395) on Sept. 15 against the Colorado Rapids. Mabiala has started in 15 of 20 regular-season appearances for the Timbers in the 2021 campaign and tallied an assist on June 23 against Houston.
The Timbers will continue their three-game home stretch at Providence Park next weekend when they host Real Salt Lake on Saturday, Sept. 25. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) and will feature a local broadcast FOX 12 Plus with radio broadcasts on 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).
