ORLANDO, Fla. - The quality of play and the on-field characteristics of Diego Chara that Portland Timbers supporters have come to know and love were on display under the bright lights of the 2019 MLS All-Star Game, presented by Target, on Wednesday night.
Chara, who was named to his first MLS All-Star roster, was in the Starting XI and played the entire first half against Spanish side Atlético Madrid. To sum up his performance: it was classic Chara - timely tackles, key blocks and interceptions and a tireless work rate.
"I think it was an amazing experience for me; very happy," said Chara field-side after the match. "Unfortunately, we didn't get a result. But I had fun and, for me, it was a great experience."
