Edgar Guererro, League Series One, 1.21.19

Portland Timbers eMLS competitor Edgar Guerrero (x_thiago_silva_o or @RCTID_Thiago on social) is set to take part in the first eMLS League Series One presented by PlayStation in LA on Tuesday.

The eMLS League Series events – which will feature the full roster of eMLS players – will help determine the seeding for the 2019 eMLS Cup presented by PlayStation in March. In turn, eMLS Cup participants will earn points for the EA SPORTS Global Series Playoffs, which give gamers a chance to qualify for the 2019 FIFA eWorld Cup.

Tuesday's event will feature early round, head-to-head play throughout the day with the top four finishers from each conference facing off in a live stream event at the Esports Arena in Santa Ana, Calif., with doors opening at 5:30pm PT. Fans can register to attend for free here. A live web stream will begin at 6:30pm PT on Twitch. Be sure follow the live standings page and @eMLS on Twitter for the latest details for this event.

Guerrero has had a busy time since re-signing with the club in early December. After taking part in a special eMLS x Coca-Cola FIFA 19 event against Atlanta United FC's Hugo “ratedhugo” Hernandez as part of the 2018 MLS Cup festivities, he recently took part in the MLS Media and Marketing Tour in LA alongside Timbers first team players Diego Valeri and Sebastián Blanco.

Both Valeri and Blanco feature in Guerrero's eMLS FIFA Ultimate Team roster which, in a unique eMLS twist, requires at least three MLS players on the field at any given time with at least two of those three coming from the participating club's roster.

Guerrero, a Timbers fan living in McMinnville, Ore., first joined Portland in 2018 and took part in the first-ever 2018 eMLS Cup tournament at PAX East in Boston. He advanced from the group play stage, going 4-0-0 against Cascadia rival competitors from Seattle Sounders FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC, while qualifying for the Western Conference Playoffs of the tournament. Also in 2018, he peaked at No. 15 in North America for FIFA Ultimate Team rankings. An accomplished 11v11 Pro Clubs player as well, Guerrero has previously captained an esports team for Mexico’s Club América and, while there, won four first-division titles, two Copa Pro titles, two SuperCopa Pro titles as well as a Mexican Cup championship title and two Continental Cup titles playing FIFA.
