PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers forward Dairon Asprilla was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 28, the league announced today. Asprilla scored the game-winning goal of Wednesday’s away match against LAFC to help the Timbers earn their fourth consecutive victory on the road.
Asprilla scored a goal for a third consecutive match, while also tallying an assist on Yimmi Chara’s opening goal of Wednesday’s match. It marked the second time Asprilla recorded a goal and an assist in the same match in the 2021 campaign. Making his second MLS Team of the Week appearance this season (Week 18), Asprilla increased his season totals to eight goals and three assists.
