Portland Timbers defender Liam Ridgewell, on loan to Sky Bet Championship League side Brighton & Hove Albion, helped the Seagulls to a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers last Saturday. Ridgewell, making his third start in a row for Brighton, was active throughout and served in a dangerous cross in the second half for Anthony Knockaert that was hammered off the post.
The win came at a good time as it broke a eight-game winless run for Brighton and put them in fifth place on 47 points, eight back from league leader Middlesborough and still in the race for a promotion playoff spot.
Earlier in the week, Ridgewell also got the start in the Seagulls' loss 2-0 away to Rotherham United.
Brighton return home this weekend as they host Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
