Portland Timbers on loan defender Liam Ridgewell made his debut for Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend as he played the full 90 minutes in the Seagulls' 1-0 loss to Hull City in the Emirites FA Cup third round stage. Ridgewell, who started his loan stint with Brighton on December 30, 2015, was part of a Brighton defense that handled 17 shots but it was a 41st minute penalty by the host's Robert Snodgrass that gave Hull the win.

While disappointed with the loss, Brighton manager Chris Hughton was pleased with Ridgewell's performance. "It's a good acquisition and also another player who has got 90 minutes under their belt today," he said.
Brighton next take on Rotherham United in the Sky Bet Championship League on January 12.
