Portland Timbers defender Liam Ridgwell made his fifth start in as many matches while on loan with Wigan Athletic FC over the weekend, helping lead the Latics against first-place AFC Bournemouth.
Ridgewell nearly contributed to Wigan’s second-half comeback with a pair of shots on goal. He forced Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc into an excellent save on one and had a second shot blocked on the back post.
In his final home match for Wigan at DW Stadium, Ridgewell graced the cover of the match-day program.
Wigan plays its next match on the road away to Nottingham Forest on Wednesday. Ridgewell is scheduled to rejoin the Timbers ahead of the Simple Invitational, which commences Sunday, Feb. 22 at Providence Park (TICKETS).
