Starting his third match in as many games, Portland Timbers on loan defender Liam Ridgewell played the full 90 for Wigan Athletic in their hard-fought 1-0 loss to Huddersfield Town Saturday in the English Championship League.
Ridgewell was active throughout the match making a save off the line in the 33rd minute and helping Wigan control much of the match. However, it was a hopeful shot from distance from Huddersfield Town's Conor Coady in the 82nd minute that found the bottom corner of the net and stole the match from the Latics.
Though Ridgewell said following the game that the result was "disappointing" because Wigan had "worked really hard" throughout, the Latics now set their sights on Ipswich Town away next Saturday.
