PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers have loaned forward Tega Ikoba to USL side Indy Eleven for the 2024 season, the club announced today. The Timbers have the option to recall Ikoba throughout the season.
Ikoba has made six career MLS appearances, scoring one goal in 104 minutes played. The 20-year-old forward scored his first MLS goal in his 2023 MLS season debut on March 18 against Atlanta United FC at Mercedes Benz Stadium, just seven minutes after subbing into the match. He became the youngest goal scorer in club history at 19 years and 216 days old, as well as the first Portland academy product to score in an MLS match.
At the MLS NEXT Pro level, Ikoba has appeared in 34 matches for T2, recording six goals. Ikoba signed as a Homegrown Player with the Timbers in 2022.
