PORTLAND, Ore. – With a dramatic, penalty-kick win against Sporting Kansas City on Thursday night, the Portland Timbers will play host to Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Providence Park on Sunday, Nov. 1, in the first game of a two-game, aggregate-goal Western Conference Semifinals series of the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs, it was announced this evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. (Pacific) and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
The Timbers will travel to Vancouver for the second game of the conference semifinals on Sunday, Nov. 8, with kickoff and broadcast information to be determined.
Individual tickets for Sunday’s playoff match at Providence Park go on sale to the general public Friday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. (Pacific), and will be available for purchase online here, by phone at (888) 736-6849, or at the Providence Park box office. A limited-window, online presale will take place Thursday night for Timbers and Portland Thorns FC season ticket holders and members of the club’s Season Ticket Waiting List. The special presale ends at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30.
The Timbers advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals after battling Sporting KC to a 2-2 draw through regulation and extra time before earning a 7-6 win on penalty kicks in the Knockout Round of the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs on Thursday night at Providence Park. The winner of the conference semifinals between Portland and Vancouver will advance to face either FC Dallas or Seattle Sounders FC in the Western Conference Championship.
