PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers today selected two players over the final two rounds of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas, held Monday via conference call. The Timbers selected defender Zac McGraw from Army West Point in the third round (No. 68 overall) and defender Joergen Oland from Fordham University in the fourth round (No. 94 overall).
McGraw, 22, was selected by the Timbers after making 68 appearances (66 starts) and tallying one goal and nine assists as a four-year starter at Army West Point (2016-19). McGraw, who was a four-time First Team All-Patriot League honoree, started all 16 matches for the Black Knights during his senior campaign, logging one goal and four assists in 2019. A native of Torrance, Calif., McGraw earned two USCA First Team All-Northeast Region recognitions (2017, 2018) and was named a 2019 USCA Third Team All-Northeast Region honoree.
A four-year starter for Fordham University (2016-19), Oland, 22, appeared in 76 matches (76 starts) for the Rams, registering 15 goals and three assists in his collegiate career. The Drammen, Norway, native tallied four goals and one assist in his senior campaign in 2019, en route to earning his second Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year honor (2018, 2019). Oland, who twice earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors (2018, 2019), played club soccer at Stromsgodset TF in Norway.
