That’s a wrap on the 2024 MLS regular season, and all eyes now look toward the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs.
The Portland Timbers will play host to rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Western Conference Wild Card Game on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Providence Park; kickoff is 7:30 pm PT.
Tickets for the Wild Card Game are on sale now via SeatGeek. A live broadcast wil be available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Following a Decision Day draw in Seattle, the Timbers enter the postseason as the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference. However, the Timbers will host the No. 8 seed Whitecaps FC due to a conflicting event at BC Place and with no other venues available in the Vancouver market. The Wild Card Game is single elimination.
The winner advances to the Round One Best-of-3 Series against top-seeded Los Angeles FC.
The Timbers have qualified for the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs for an eighth time, having made three MLS Cup appearances (2015, 2018, 2021) and winning MLS Cup in 2015.
The Timbers and Whitecaps FC have Audi MLS Cup Playoffs history, previously meeting in the 2015 Western Conference Semifinals. The Timbers went 1-0-1 in the two-game, aggregate-goal series on their way to winning MLS Cup that season.
