PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers U-23s, the development team for Major League Soccer’s Portland Timbers, will conduct a pair of two-day player tryouts in March 2012, in advance of their upcoming Premier Development League season.
The Timbers U-23s will hold their two-day tryouts March 10-11 and March 24-25, 2012. The tryouts will take place in Portland, Ore.; the tryout location will be announced at a later date.
The upcoming tryouts are open to all players 17 years of age or older. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present at the tryout. The registration fee is $125. To register, visit http://registration.portlandtimbers.com. Space is limited.

Other details: All participants must bring their own soccer equipment, including appropriate shoes (turf, jogging, cleats, etc.), shin guards and other soccer apparel dependent upon weather.
ABOUT TIMBERS U-23s
The Timbers U-23s are an amateur team, which serves as the development side for the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer. The Timbers U-23s, founded in 2008, compete in United Soccer Leagues’ Premier Development League (PDL) – the top under-23, amateur league in North America. In 2010, the Timbers U-23s posted an impressive 20-0-0 record through the regular season and playoffs to become the first undefeated PDL champion in league history. The PDL features a 16-match regular season from May through July, and the Timbers U-23s compete in Northwest Division of the PDL’s Western Conference.
