Timbers unveil 2022 Heritage Rose secondary jersey

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers today unveiled their 2022 Heritage Rose secondary jersey that will feature Alaska Airlines and TikTok as the club’s official jersey partners.

The Timbers’ “Heritage Rose” jersey features a dynamic, pink-forward colorway highlighted by a rose floral pattern across the front. The jersey base is rooted in “Vapour Pink,” with accents in “Victory Crimson” across the collar, shoulder and sleeve cuffs. The design is a vibrant, rose themed kit – an ode to The Rose City.

“In collaboration with our partners at Adidas, we are excited to push the boundaries of our traditional design aesthetic and expand the club’s brand iconography and color family,” said Mike Golub, president of business for the Timbers. “We think this is one of our most unique and distinct kits in history of the club and are excited to share it with our supporters.”

The powerful pink aesthetic is the first of the club’s 15 MLS jerseys to sit outside their traditional color palette, and first in pink. Alaska Airlines – the Timbers’ inaugural and only, front-of-jersey partner – is prominently displayed across the center for the 12th consecutive year, and TikTok returns with placement on the right sleeve.

“When we started developing the Heritage Rose with the Timbers, our combined objective was to pay homage to the Rose City by developing a bold & unique pattern, introduce a new and vibrant color palette, and stay authentic to the city & Timbers fans,” said Skate Noftsinger, director of sports marketing of Adidas soccer. “Our design process led us to a jersey that both fans & players will wear proudly for Rose City.”

As part of the design, the jersey features two custom embellishments. The neck tape, located on the inside neck of the collar, prominently features the phrase “Rose City ‘Til I Die.” Also known as RCTID, Rose City ‘Til I Die symbolizes the deep and powerful connection between club and community, an attitude highlighted by the Rose City’s collective passion for the club.

The jocktag, located on the bottom-right of the jersey is a custom art composition inspired by “RCTID,” manifested creatively in this union of art and ethos. The imagery features a skull and a rose, a Latin translation of Rose City ‘Til I Die, and the King of Clubs playing card – a nod to the famous tifo by the Timbers Army.

The club is set to debut and wear the new pink and crimson kits at the 2022 season opener at Providence Park on February 26 at 4:30 p.m. PT against New England Revolution.

The Heritage Rose kit comes in authentic, replica, women’s and kid’s silhouettes and will be available online HERE starting Tuesday, February 15 at 9 a.m. (Pacific). and at the PTFC Authentics primary team store located at Providence Park at 11 a.m. Due to shipping delays, only limited quantities and size runs will be available for in-store inventory prior to the regular season.
