PORTLAND, Ore. ā Timbers2 midfielder Ian Shaul was named to the 2022 MLS NEXT All-Star Game roster presented by Allstate, MLS NEXT Pro announced today. The match will feature 45 players in an East versus West format at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn. on Wednesday, August 10.
Shaul, 16, will join team West to face off against team East in the inaugural MLS NEXT All-Star Game. This season, Shaul has made eight appearances (6 starts), logging 494 minutes for T2. He made his MLS NEXT Pro debut on March 30, 2022, also earning his first start against Earthquakes II. The Minnesota native joined the Timbers Academy in August of 2020 and has since been a member of the U-17 team.
The 2022 MLS NEXT All-Star Game will be streamed live, with further tune-in details to be announced at a later date. Admission to the match at the National Sports Center is free of cost.
